Watching my own mother decline from Alzheimer’s disease while I was in medical school and residency was heart-wrenching. Feeling powerless and ill-equipped to help my father cope with my mother’s rapid decline, I was trained to believe that there was nothing to be done to prevent, slow or reverse this devastating disease. Shortly after my mother’s death and while working as a Primary Care physician in Northern California, I began researching Functional Medicine and discovered Dr. Bredesen’s book, “The End of Alzheimer’s: The First Program to Prevent and Reverse Cognitive Decline.”
Hope turned into passion, and I immediately began making recommendations to prevent and reverse Alzheimer’s disease in my patients. Now, as Founder/Owner of my own Functional Medical practice in Folsom, California I am changing lives by passing on my extensive knowledge, wisdom, and personal experience to support individuals on their own health journeys. This passion, inspired by my mother, has helped hundreds of patients.
We treat the whole person and we believe everyone is unique! We understand the importance of an integrative, personalized approach, considering the complex web of interactions in the patient’s history, biochemistry, and lifestyle. Getting to the root cause of symptoms early will help prevent and reverse disease. Every patient’s unique genetic background is considered, along with both internal (mind, body, and spirit) and external (environmental) factors. This process involves an initial comprehensive health assessment to review personal, medical, and family history, health and life goals, current lifestyle habits and symptoms, so that we can determine the type of testing that is needed to further identify the root cause of disease.
Using my clinical experience and knowledge of advanced testing (toxicity, inflammation, genetics, and more), Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy, and training in energy, functional, and longevity medicine not only helps identify the root cause of illness, but helps patients add quality years to their lives so they can live full, happy, balanced, and gratifying lives.
